Did a fantastic job for our school group

I chose outfitter for a school trip with 31 kids aged 11-18. All the correspondence before we arrived was swift and efficient. When we arrived we immediately felt welcome and could put our trust in the company to look after us.

The itinerary was challenging but well suited to our group, many of whom had very mixed trekking experience. We had two days sightseeing in Kathmandu then three days trekking to Chisapani and Nagarkot. It was a beautiful route through little villages in the hills and the kids really enjoyed the experience.

One child had a birthday on the trip and the company arranged a lovely cake for her at really short notice, making her day really memorable.

They worked really hard to make sure we had a great trip and coped very well with 31 teenagers! There were a few small breakdowns in communication and we had to change some parts of our itinerary at short notice, but this didn't prevent our enjoyment of the trip. We also had to remind them to build in some rest stops, as some of our students are not experienced trekkers. All our requests and suggestions were taken on board.

All in all a great company, very accommodating and really tailor-made the trip to our requirements. A few things we'd tweak for next time but hope we'll be back again next year. Thanks Outfitter Nepal.

Great Himalaya Trek of Ghorepani Poon Hill

Myself and five others visited Nepal in early October 2016.The weather was sunny throughout the day, so I wore light pants and a t-shirt. I also had a jersey on hand just in case of a turn in weather. There was only once that I felt cold and that was at the highest point of our journey (3210 metres) when we ventured to Poon Hill. It's kind of what you expect though when you are high up in the mountains!

Some of the highlights for me included hiking up Poon Hill to see the sunrise, white water rafting down the river and meeting the local children. I would highly recommend taking clothing, bandages or toys to donate to the children, because there is no better feeling than providing for someone in need. Many of the children will ask for chocolate or candy, but it is recommended not to give them any as they don't understand the importance of cleaning their teeth, and healthcare is hard to come by for them.

We had the pleasure of being assigned a friendly guide called Hom who had excellent knowledge about the area and spoke very good English. This was my first time in a non-English speaking country, so I was very impressed. Hom allowed us to go at our own pace and helped us on the track when we needed assistance.

I was equally impressed by our sherpas Maila, Narayan and Shanka, as they were very friendly and genuinely happy to show us their beautiful country.

As a vegetarian, I was a little concerned that there would be a lack of variety when it came to food, however I was proved wrong. There was plenty to choose from and there was not a single meal that I disliked.

Accommodation was excellent. Everywhere we stopped was absolutely amazing! One night we were located next to a river - another night we were next to a waterfall - and another night we were up in the mountains. Just stunning! It was like nothing else I had ever experienced before.

At the end of the hiking, I became unwell and could no longer carry on with the rest of the tour. Thankfully, Raj (the tour organiser) arranged for me to stay another night in Pokhara, which I am forever grateful. Nothing was ever a problem for the guys at Outfitter and that is something I will always remember about the company.

Thank you for taking me on this amazing journey! I will be recommending you to all of my friends :-)

    Nepal Annapurna Circuit Trekking

My son and I have just returned from a 5+ week holiday in Nepal, expertly organized by Outfitter. We did two treks totaling 30 days, using an itinerary suggested by Arjun at Outfitter which fitted the bill perfectly. From the first email contact, Outfitter Nepal were prompt in responding to our queries and made suggestions which worked perfectly. The holiday was arranged efficiently with a minimum of fuss. Because of the total length of the trek, we had 2 porters, Sunil and Shambhu, who were delightful, helpful and fun and our excellent guide, Santosh looked after us really well.

While complex communication with Sunil and Shambhu was limited because they spoke little English, Santosh has excellent English. His knowledge, experience and organizing abilities were superb and resulted in our being in the greatest degree of comfort possible in the mountains. He skilfully altered the schedule as we went along. From our many conversations as we went along we learned a great deal about Nepal generally.

This was augmented by his introducing us to 3 young Nepali trekking tourists - not common - whom we accompanied for several days and met up with in Kathmandu after the trek. The treks are very different and both are simply wonderful. At 67 I was concerned that I might no longer be fit enough for such long treks, but I need not have worried. I had no fitness issues and no altitude problems at all. I just had to breath a bit more deeply than normal when I was nearing the Thorong La pass at over 5400m.

On both treks there was a lot more snow than normal for March/April but my son and I are used to walking in snow and ice and Santosh had no worries about us. On the ABC trek we met another two guides from Outfitter and while, of course, we preferred Santosh as "ours" I was impressed with them too.

If you want a trekking company, I would not go for a European one. They charge a great deal more money, and they then subcontract to a Nepali trekking company anyway. You don't need a European guide, they don't know Nepal nearly as well and don't speak the language.

Outfitter Nepal is well used to dealing with the needs and wishes of foreign tourists and met our every need most charmingly.

    Hello Outfitter,
I am writing this to compliment and commend your excellent service. I am very grateful to Outfitter Nepal Team though i paid; got more than i expected. Me and my wife visited there for Honeymoon and some adventure trip that you guys organize was extremely successful. Arjun, Raj and NG did great management from arrival to departure.

Our Guide Bijay and Santosh did great job. Thanks for your cheering around the trip my friends at our tiring, struggling moments. It is really awesome to have good food at the high mountain which we hardly imagine about.

Kathmandu and Pokhara both amazingly different from where we live so i enjoyed the moment we been there. I am very delighted to take the decision of choosing Outfitter to organize the Kathmandu tour and Trekking at ABC at your wonderful recommended package which is price worthy and Service is really excellent. May not be for long time but will visit again, Definitely.

    Unforgettable Nepal and Bhutan tour

I got a recommendation from my boss, who did ABC trek with Outfitter Nepal in 2012.
Our tour was both cultural exploring and trekking oriented. We had numerous requests to be fulfilled by Outfitter Nepal during planning period.

They built perfect itinerary which covered all our wishes. Although the itinerary was packed with activities and travelling everything worked like a swiss watch!
Accurate pickups and transfers, convenient accommodations, lovely treks, infinite attractions, great local food and, of course, excellent team.

    • We really enjoyed this tour.
    • Recommend going to Nepal with Outfitter Nepal.
    • Good value for money
    • Dreams come true with professionals!

Annapurna Base camp trek is a trip of a lifetime

Just like all the previous positive reviews we agree Outfitter Nepal was an excellent choice for our ABC adventure.

The porters and guides were very attentive to our needs and by the end we felt we had adopted 8 wonderful Nepalese grandsons ( we were all over 60) or maybe they felt they had adopted 10 Canadian grandparents. LOL. The trek was amazing and often more difficult than some anticipated but the porters/guides were there to encourage when needed or hang back and allow us our own pace. Our main guide, Suraj, was very professional as was our assistant guide, Pralad, and the entire porter team were respectful and diligent in their care of each guest.

Our guides, Kamal, Rams, Rajan, Anil, Raz Kumal, and Kirin so impressed us all with their strength, endurance and desire to serve all along the trek. On several occasions Kirin would reach our days destination and then double back to meet me along the trail and offer to carry my daypack the rest of the way. So thoughtful and caring and very much appreciated.

I can't say enough good things about our experience with Outfitter Nepal and highly recommend them. From airport pick up to drop off back at the airport at the end of our adventure Outfitter Nepal was there to assure a positive experience.

    Short Ghorepani Trek

I was recommended Outfitter Nepal from a friend who had trekked with them a month prior to my trip. I exchanged numerous emails with Arjun to gather the information I needed and book the appropriate Trek for my sister and I to do on our visit to Nepal.

We were greeted at the airport and given our tickets for our connecting flight from Kathmandu onward. When we we arrived in Pokhara, a taxi took us to our hotel and we were able to check in and go wander around Pokhara. At 5 pm our guide met us at the hotel to go over the trek and agree on a start time for the next day.

Our guide was Amar and he was an absolute pleasure to hike with. He was able answer our questions along the way, provide us with additional information we didn't know to ask about and after two days I can honestly say it was like hiking with a new friend.

We cruised through the trek's and arrived fairly early each day at the end point. This allowed us to get the best rooms (with wonderful views) and spend more time relaxing and enjoying those views. Amar recommended things to do, made sure we weren't hungry and hung out with us like long time friends.
