The Chances of Altitude Sickness Are Minimal

Traveling to high altitudes poses a potential risk of altitude sickness due to the low level of oxygen in the atmosphere. However, the Nepal Tibet Tour is designed so travelers are unlikely to be affected by the illness. The journey starts from Kathmandu at 1400 meters and involves a short trekking section in Nagarkot at 2175 meters. During this part of the trip, the elevation gain is minimal, which allows your body to adapt and acclimate appropriately. So you can efficiently complete the hike without experiencing any symptoms of altitude sickness. However, when you start your journey to Lhasa, the altitude significantly increases compared to Nepal. During your tour in Tibet, the highest altitude you will travel is around 4000 meters. This elevation gain can lead to some symptoms of illness like headache, nausea, loss of appetite, fatigue, and dizziness. If you experience these indications of sickness, please inform your tour guide immediately for medical assistance. Moreover, we suggest you ascend gradually, stay hydrated, avoid alcohol, and listen to your body to prevent altitude sickness. Additionally, taking medications like acetazolamide (Diamox) is an effective way to avoid altitude sickness during the tour. So, considering these simple health precautions, you can complete your Nepal Tibet Tour with convenience and unforgettable memories to cherish forever.
