Best Season to Commence 10 days Gokyo Valley Lake Trek

Trekking in the Khumbu region is a fantastic experience in every season except monsoon. Most travelers prefer to start their journey in the spring and Autumn to experience and explore the area as the weather conditions suit activities such as trekking, hiking, and climbing. This season also offers trekkers spectacular views of green hills, blooming flowers on the trail, crystalline peaks, and the best of nature's beauty. In addition, you will also get to experience some of the most important festivals during this season while trekking in the Khumbu region.

On the other hand, in winter, the snowcapped mountains seem magical and worth the trek. Moreover, the trails and surrounding landscapes will be covered in snow, transforming the region into a winter wonderland. However, trekking in cold weather will be difficult, and you must prepare yourself with proper clothing and equipment. Besides, you must always follow the trek leader's guidelines to safely enjoy the wonders of winter on the peaceful route of the Khumbu region.

The climate and weather conditions during the Summer and Monsoon seasons will be hot, and you will experience frequent heavy rainfalls. So, the trails will be muddy and sloppy, making it difficult for you to trek in the high-altitude area of the region. Regardless, you can enjoy magnificent clear views of the Himalayas and the surrounding region after the rainfall has stopped and the dust has settled from the atmosphere.

Besides, surrounded by some of the highest mountain peaks in the world, the weather conditions in this region are unpredictable and will change frequently. As a result, flights will only operate when the weather is stable with visible clarity of the atmosphere. So, the chances of getting your flight canceled must be considered. In such cases, the Gokyo Valley Trek will be extended by a day or two.

Besides, due to the increased number of flights during the peak season of Spring and Autumn, flights will be operated from Manthali in Ramechhap district, which is just 132 km from Kathmandu, a 4 hr 30 mins drive. Regardless, you can book an early ticket from an airline company to secure a direct flight from Kathmandu to Lukla.

                      • Internet: Wifi is available in some parts of the trek, but the connection is not always stable. Similar to charging service, you must also pay for internet connection at tea houses.
                      • ATM: There are several ATM counters in Kathmandu, but the last stop to withdraw money on the route is Namche Bazaar.
                      • Tip: Tipping has become a significant part of travel culture in Nepal. So, do not hesitate or feel awkward tipping the hard-working guides and porters the amount you think is appropriate.
                      • Luggage: We will provide you with duffle bags, which porters carry. You can have your essentials on a day pack to carry essentials and important documents during the trek.

                        Great trek to Gokyo Valley

Last week of November and December 1, 2018: grand route to the Valley of Gokyo until Gokyo Ri mt. 5,400. Perfect organization Outfitter Nepal, I would say "Swiss"! Accurate, timely, extremely available, competent and flexible in satisfying customer demands.

Diligent in responding to every need, even trivial. For me it is the second trek in Nepal, both with Outfitter Nepal, both perfect.

From driving Bhim, bearer Dan, from the owner of the agency Arjun, the last of the drivers, they are all extremely available and courteous, always ready to lend a hand and make you feel welcomed and surrounded by friends.

                        Outfitter Nepal is a guarantee!

                        Thank you!
