You drive to Chitwan from Kathmandu/Pokhara that takes about 5-6 hours  by private car/jeep and on your arrival at lodge/hotel/Resort  where you are offered refreshment & be given a briefing & its facilities.

After being given your program for the day, your room will then be allocated to you then lunch will be provided.  You will be taken for Tharu Village tour and in the evening and return to lodge and overnight at lodge.

After having breakfast at the lodge, you will be taken for Canoe ride along the Rapti River which is an excellent opportunity for Bird Watching and for rare species of crocodiles (the Marsh Mugger and the fish eating Gharial).

You then have Jungle Walk into the National park, return to lodge for lunch and will  be taken for the Elephant Safari or Jeep safari (as per your choice).  It is an excellent opportunity to see four different kinds of deer, rhinoceros, wild boar, monkey, leopard, sloth bear and the Royal Bengal Tiger (If you are lucky).

You also encounter many other smaller mammals that have made Chitwan their home, return to lodge and visit the Elephant breeding center and overnight at lodge.

Excellent Experience

Excellent Experience

One change to the itinerary that I would highly recommend take place however is that visitors to Chitwan opt for the Jeep safari over the Elephant safari. The private elephants were not treated kindly and I believe that a lot of tourists, like myself, would find this very distressing to witness.
