Almost all of the guesthouses were destroyed, and certain segments of the walk were ruined as a result of the disaster. For a long period, the area was likewise closed to trekking.

The good news is that trekking is once again permitted in the area. The majority of the guesthouses are presently being renovated. If you can't get a place in one of the few guesthouses, you might have to sleep in a tented camp.
