The Poonhill and Mardi Himal trek takes you to a maximum elevation of 4500m at the Mardi Himal base camp. Travelers with no hiking experience might show signs of AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness), commonly called altitude sickness. Also, people with underlying respiratory medical conditions are prone to experiencing the symptoms. It is also important to note that each individual reacts to the condition differently. So, to identify altitude sickness, you can look out for early symptoms such as:

• Decent to a lower altitude to adopt the atmospheric changes.
• Drink garlic soup, ginger tea, and lemon tea, considered natural remedies.
