On this tour, you will visit holy sites, including the pristine lake Mansarovar and the revered Mount Kailash, which is believed to be the abode of Lord Shiva. Mount Kailash holds immense religious importance for Jain religious followers as the first Jain Tirthankara Rishabadeva to attain enlightenment on the Mountain. In Buddhist religion, the Mountain is considered to be the center of the universe, and it is also the place where Milarepa meditated. Similarly, the followers of the Bon religion believed that the sacred Mountain is the axis mundi, a point that connects heaven and earth. During this spiritual journey, you will stop by this pristine lake and soak in the surrounding view. You can also dip in this holy lake as its waters are believed to wash away all your previous sins. From here on, you will begin the circumambulation of the Kora of Mount Kailash. According to numerous religions, the Kora is referred to as recreating the circle of life and rebirth. Difficulty

The Mount Kailash Mansarovar Tour is a challenging journey around Tibet's holy sites and sacred landscapes. While it offers an exhilarating spiritual experience to travelers, it also imposes numerous challenges. For example, the long road journey can be demanding as most of the journey traverses unpaved and rocky terrains. In addition, you will also be walking for 6-8 hours for three days during the Kora of Mount Kailash. So, one must be in good health and have a solid mental attitude and perseverance to complete this tour. On the other hand, the unpredictable nature of the weather conditions in the region can make things complicated as well. In such circumstances, you must use the right gear, equipment, and clothing and follow the instructions of the guide and tour leader.

Altitude Sickness

During the Mount Kailash Mansarovar Luxury Tour, travelers will ascend to over 4,500 m. As you will spend most of the time in a high-altitude region, you must adjust to the low oxygen level and other atmospheric changes. If your body cannot adapt, you will experience symptoms like headache, nausea, insomnia, shortness of breath, and loss of appetite. Remember, if these symptoms do not subside, you must inform your trek guide immediately so that he can take the necessary measures. To prevent the immediate onset of altitude sickness, you should hydrate yourself adequately, hike slowly, and avoid alcohol and highly caffeinated beverages. Besides, we recommend that you pack medication such as Diamox and Ibuprofen, which will help lessen the symptoms of the illness. In addition, you can also try Honjingtian, a Tibetan medicinal herb, to relieve yourself and ensure your well-being on the tour.

Preparation and Training

To complete the Mount Kailash Mansarovar Luxury Tour safely and comfortably, one must be prepared to train oneself physically and mentally. We highly recommend engaging in short hikes in your home country to learn what to expect in the tour ahead. It is also beneficial if you indulge in regular exercises 2-3 months before the start of this exceptional journey. Include exercises such as cycling, jogging, swimming, running, and climbing stairs in your daily workout routine. These activities will help build muscle strength and enhance endurance and stamina for longer hikes around Mount Kailash. On the other hand, we advise you to practice yoga posture as it helps develop a positive and strong mindset.
