Day01

Arrival in Kathmandu

Day02

Sightseeing around Kathmandu (Visa Application Optional)

On day two, we will prepare to obtain your visa and visit the Chinese Embassy. After you complete the visa procedure, our guide will lead you sightseeing around Kathmandu. Our short excursion begins from Pashupatinath Temple, a revered Hindu pilgrimage site dedicated to Lord Shiva. Then, we will drive towards Boudhanath Stupa, where we will complete the circumambulation of the sacred shrines and pray with the locals. The sightseeing ends after we explore the Swayambhunath, a monkey temple. The views from here are remarkable as you will have a panoramic view of the capital city. Finally, we will ride back to our Hotel and enjoy our dinner.

Drive from Kathmandu to Nagarkot

Today, you will wake up early and enjoy a hearty breakfast at the Hotel. After a short break, we will board a private vehicle to visit beautiful Nagarkot. It is a popular destination around Kathmandu for travelers to escape the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu. Nagarkot is also a popular vantage point as you can witness majestic mountain peaks like Langtang, Garishankher, and Ganesh Himal. The journey covers a total distance of 28km and takes about 1 hour 45 minutes to complete. Once you arrive at the resort, get ready to relax and enjoy the marvelous sunset with a hot beverage. In the evening, we will have a campfire and enjoy our meal with the rest of the tour members and guide.

Return to Kathmandu Via Bhaktapur

After a hearty breakfast early in the morning, we will begin our drive back to Kathmandu. Along the way, our tour guide will take you to a short detour around Bhaktapur. During this brief excursion, you will visit Bhaktapur Durbar Square and other unique cultural and religious shrines and monuments. The medieval city is also famous for its various restaurants and eateries, which provide authentic Newari cuisines and beverages. Apart from the exploration, you can also participate in potter activities and create your art piece at a reasonable price.

Day05

Drive from Kathmandu to Kyirong via the Nepal-Tibet Border

We will wake up early and pack our baggage for the drive to Syabrubesi. After checking out of the Hotel, we will hop on a private jeep or bus and walk through suburban areas, terraced farmlands, and beautiful hills. After arriving at Syabrubesi, we will have a quick lunch break and relax. Moving on, we will drive to Rashuwagadhi, 15 m from Syabrubesi. This is where we will complete the immigration process and travel to China. Eventually, our remaining immigration formalities will be completed by the Chinese authorities, and we will continue our drive to Kyirong. The 70km road drive takes around 3 hours to complete. Finally, we will arrive at the Hotel in Kyirong, where we will have dinner and spend the night.

Rest Day at Kyirong

Drive from Kyirong to Saga

After breakfast, our 115km road drive from Kyirong to Saga will take 8 to 10 hours. Along the way, you will encounter stunning natural landscapes, including Lake Peku Tso, Ganesh Parbat, and the mighty Brahmaputra River, also known as Yarlung Tsangpo in Chinese. After arriving at the Hotel in Saga, you will freshen up, meet the rest of the team for dinner, and have a pleasant evening.

Day08

Drive from Saga to Payang to Mansarovar Lake

As we leave the beautiful town of Saga, the road ahead leads us through the Tibetan valleys. We will pass by small towns, including Zhongba and Paryang. Enjoy the views of lush pasture lands and charming villages as you cross the Mayomla pass (5122m). In addition, you can witness the breathtaking views of Mt. Naimonanyi (7694 meters) as the ride takes us through the pass. Eventually, we arrive at the holy Lake Mansarovar, one of the sacred lakes in Hinduism, Buddhism, etc. As you get closer to this pristine lake, you will be welcomed by the serene view of Chiu Monastery on the lake's northwest shore. After enjoying the surrounding views and exploring the area, we will head to the Hotel and spend the night after a hearty meal.

Day09

Exploration of Lake Mansarovar and drive to Darchen

Our morning begins as we wake up and visit the holy lake for prayers and meditation. After completing the rituals according to your religion, we will explore the lake and enjoy the morning view of the surrounding landscapes. Moving on, we will visit the Chiu Gompa and the nearby Rakchas Taal and return to our Hotel for the 2-hour drive to Darchen. The small village is a hub for travelers and pilgrims visiting the Kailash region. Darchen hosts several restaurants and cafes where you can relax and enjoy coffee in the evening.

Day10

Trek from Darchen to Dirapuk (Kailash Kora Day 1)

Today is the first day of Mount Kailash Kora. We start the day by having breakfast at the Hotel and hopping on the jeep to Sarshung Valley. This small town is the starting point of the trek around Mount Kailash. Remember that if you want your luggage to be carried for the trek, you can hire a potter at the village or even pack animals. After making the necessary preparations and arrangements, we begin the hike as we make our way along the beautiful rocky cliffs. Today's hike is 15 km long and passes through the gorgeous Lachu Valley. By the end of the day, we will arrive at Dirapuk, our destination for today. You can spend the rest of the afternoon exploring the Dirapuk Monastery and offering your prayers.

Day11

Trek from Dirapuk to Zuthulphuk (Kailash Kora Day 2)

We begin our trek today around 7:00 AM and hike towards the wast face of Kuberkunsa Pass (5600m). After walking for some time, we will gradually descend to Zuthulphuk (4800m). Moving ahead, we will then make a steep climb with the help of our trekking poles and ropes if necessary. Once you reach the top, you will be greeted by the views of Mount Kailash, Nandi Parbat, and Astha Path. After the brief exploration, we will hike to Zuthulphuk, home to the Cave of Miracles. This is where the great sage Milerapa mediated and supposedly performed miracles. Later in the afternoon, you can visit the Zuthulphu Monastery and learn about the region's culture and history.

Day12

Trek from Zuthulphuk to Darchen (End of Kailash Kora) and drive to Saga

Once we arrive at Darchen, we will rest for a while and enjoy lunch at a local lodge. Eventually, we will board a private vehicle to Saga, following the scenic Tibetan highway and its beautiful surroundings.

Drive from Kyirong to Kathmandu

Visa for Nepal

All foreign nationals, except Indians and Chinese, need a visa to enter Nepal. The costs for multiple entry visas are listed down below:

You can obtain a Nepal visa from the Nepalese Embassy or another consulate in your home country. On the other hand, you can apply for it online or receive it upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport or any other international border in Nepal. You will need two passport-size photos and your original passport to begin the visa process.

Note: Nationals of the following nations will not be given a visa on arrival at all Nepali entry points: Cameroon, Afghanistan, Ghana, Ethiopia, Liberia, Iraq, Palestine, Nigeria, Swaziland, Somalia, and Zimbabwe. Citizens of these countries must obtain their visas from diplomatic missions and Nepalese embassies in their respective countries before they arrive in Nepal.

These documents are provided by different government bodies in Nepal, China, and Tibet.

Chinese Visa or Chinese Group Visa

According to the updated policy, tourists from New Zealand, Australia, France, Poland, Italy, Germany, Spain, Netherlands, Singapore, and Ireland do not require a visa to enter China. However, remember that the visa-free period lasts only 15 to 30 days. If you are a national of another country, please get in touch with us so we can make the necessary arrangements to process the Chinese Visa or Chinese Group Visa for the Kailash Mansarovar Tour.

Tibet Travel Permit

The Tibet Travel Permit or the Tibet Visa is essential for any traveler to enter Tibet. Without this, you cannot access Tibet from any means of transport, including trains, planes, and private vehicles. All you need to do is provide us with copies of your passport, Chinese Visa, and two passport-size pictures. We will then proceed with the permit application on your behalf. Please remember that it usually takes 8-10 business days to process. We recommend you begin the application procedure with us 20 days before the start of the tour.

Alien’s Travel Permit

This particular permit is issued by the Public Security Bureau in Tibet. The document is crucial for travelers to access restricted areas around Mount Kailash, Tsedang Samye Monastery, and Lake Mansarovar. Like the Tibet travel permit, we will arrange this document for you. The procedure only takes around 1 to hours to complete. During this time, you can explore places like Shigatse and Lhasa.

Military Area Entry Permit and Foreign Affairs Permit

If the package itinerary includes Nyingchi, Chamdo, and Ngari, you will need a Foreign Affairs and Military Area Entry Permit. Both of these permits are issued in Lhasa and are arranged by our staff members. The processing of these documents takes 10 to 15 working days to complete.
