Langtang Valley With Tamange Heritahe Trek Distance and Route

The Langtang Tamang Heritage Trek starts with a scenic jeep drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi. On the third day of the trek, we go to Gatlang, hiking on trails surrounded by gorgeous terraced fields. Along the way, we can take a short detour to Tamang monastery and explore the sacred Parvati Kunda Lake. After spending the night at a teahouse in Gatlang, we will head to Tatopani, where you can relax in natural hot springs. The local legends say that these springs have healing powers. Take advantage of the opportunity to soak yourself in the rejuvenating waters to calm your mind, body, and soul. The hike resumes, and the trails lead us to Thuman, known for its fantastic views and beautiful grasslands. After leaving Thuman, we follow the old route to Tibet and reach Briddim, which lies just three miles away from the border of Tibet. The village of Briddim features a close-knit community, allowing you to experience the culture and traditions of the Tamang people. You can also visit the local Dukcha Gompa during your stay in Briddim. We will follow a class, the classic rote, and hike for six hours before arriving at the Lama Hotel. The path you will be walking on features lush jungles and green plateaus. On day eight of our exciting adventure, we leave Lama Hotel early in the morning and follow a path alongside river banks to reach Ghpda Tabela. This is where we will have our permits checked at an Army checkpoint. Moving forward, you will cross the Chyamiki village to reach Langtang finally. After exploring the area, we head to Kyanjin Gompa the next day, hiking through several village settlements, yak pastures, and small plateaus. Moving on, you will trek to the Lama Hotel and finally to Syabrubesi. Your arrival in Syabrubesi marks the end of our expedition, and we will leave for Kathmandu with unforgettable memories and life-changing experiences.

After 7 hours of hiking in the beautiful terrain of the region, you will finally arrive in Briddim, where you will spend the night admiring a genuinely authentic experience.

After spending the night in Briddim village, the trail leads will lead you to Lama Hotel. The six-hour hike starts as you cross the Bhote Koshi valley through several birch, pine, and bamboo jungles. You will pass several fertile lands, terraced fields, and rural village settlements along the way. Remember that the area is filled with local wildlife, so keep your eyes peeled for fortunate encounters. Eventually, the trail ahead ascends to Rimche, and you will continue the gradual hike to Lama Hotel, where you will spend the night.

As you navigate the terrain, you will pass through prayer wheels, sacred mounds of rocks with inscriptions, and water mills. This indicates that you are arriving at the ancient monastery of the Kyanjin Gompa. The beautiful village of Kyangjin is a settlement in the Lantang region surrounded by majestic mountain peaks and stunning landscapes.

We will spend the night here and enjoy a relaxing evening exploring the streets and alleyways of the town.

Langtang Tamang Heritage Trek Dates and availability

We have scheduled departures for this package from September to December and March to May. To book a reservation with us, mention the number of travelers and select a convenient date. If you want to join a group, we will arrange your trip with additional travelers on the selected date. You can let us know your preference before you make the reservation. If you want to cancel the trip, please let us know 30 days before, and we can refund your deposit. Also, we can keep the deposit if you prefer to change the schedule and find another suitable date.

Spring Season (March, April, and May)

The best time or season to commence the Tamang Heritage with Langtang Trek is Spring, which lasts from March to May. Remember that as the trails ascend to higher elevations, the accommodation facilities and amenities become basic. During this expedition, all rooms are provided on a twin-sharing basis. However, we can arrange a single room upon your request, but it will cost you extra. Additional facilities like hot-water showers, telephones, battery recharge, and wi-fi are all available for a specific additional amount.

Altitude Sickness and Remedies during Langtang Valley and Tamang Heritage Trek

As you trek to higher elevations in the Langtang region, the oxygen level drops significantly at around 3,000 meters. This can cause altitude sickness to some travelers, which can be fatal if not treated early. The symptoms include headache, exhaustion, dizziness, elevated heart rate, and loss of appetite. Please follow the general guidelines to prevent these symptoms and avoid suffering from the illness.

Travel Insurance

This will ensure your safety and well-being if anything goes wrong during the expedition. Due to the remote nature of the trail, help will arrive at a later time. So, travel insurance ensures immediate and swift evacuation via helicopter. Moreover, it will also cover any medical costs during the trek due to injury or illness. We strongly advise all our clients to get appropriate travel insurance covering medical expenses and helicopter evacuation over 5,000 meters.

Passport and visa

All foreigners except Indians and Chinese nationals require a visa to enter Nepal. In other countries, most citizens can apply for an on-arrival visa at the Tribhuvan International Airport or any other checkpoint along Nepal-Tibet and Nepal-India borders. You need a passport with six months of validity and two passport-sized photos to apply for a visa. The current charge for a Nepal visa is USD 50 for 30 days, and it can be extended for a specific amount accordingly. Please remember that the Nepal government can change the rules at any time.
